Set other User’s time zone in bulk using User Settings Utility | XrmToolBox

December 2, 2021 priyeshwagh777 D365 Admin Center, XrmToolBox set timezone, user settings utility, user timezone in dynamics crm, XrmToolBox

One of the important asks from a System Admin is to be able to update Users’ Time zone and other properties in Bulk so that the new users don’t have to hassle and do this themselves individually!

Personal Settings

In Personal Settings, users can individually see their own time zone and change it accordingly –

And let’s assume the time zone is already set to UTC which needs to be changed to Central Time

User Settings Utility in XrmToolBox

Given that you are aware of using some tools in the XrmToolBox, I’m assuming you are correctly logged in to the desired environment –

  1. Search for User Settings Utility (If not available, please download it to your XrmToolBox from the Marketplace)
You can search and install the XrmToolBox

And once installed, the User Setting Utility will be in your Tools list

  2. In User Settings Utility, click on Load Users to Load all the users from the environment –

  3. Once all the Users are loaded, select the ones which you want to change the time zones of.
(Or any other Personal Setting accordingly 😊)

  4. Once you are satisfied based on what the settings (or the time zone should be), you can click on Update the Settings.

  5. Once it is updated, the Timezone for the users will be updated accordingly.
it’ll mention each users’ name which it is updated

  6. And if you choose to see the Log file which it will prompt you, you’ll see this info in the file.

  7. The updated Time zone will reflect in their personal setting.

Hope this was useful!
